They say it takes a village to save a dog. And it is quite important for each dog to have that village behind it. The reality of Canada’s northern dog overpopulation problem means some areas are overwhelmed with dogs and it is only through teamwork that we can responsibly move these animals to areas where they will have their best chance at a happy ending.
Our frontline partners in Manitoba believe no dog should be left behind, and we firmly share this belief. Many dogs come in in less than ideal shape. These dogs deserve their chance as well, however they do require a large amount of time and resources.
Our solution to this is to pool a large group of reputable rescues together and collectively work to help these specific dogs. Every rescue we work with puts the animals first, and each has specific areas of expertise within their volunteer base. With 14 rescues in the network, dogs can go to the most suitable and prepared rescue for their specific needs, and all involved can rest assured knowing the dog will be in good hands.
The majority of dogs we see are kind souls with a lot of love to give, and there is no shortage of young puppies either! There is no love like the love of a rescued dog and it is our mission to help these animals on their way to a happy ending with a family to call their own.
